The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), represented by the Small and Medium Enterprises Centre “Tijarah 101”- Khorfakkan Branch, has organised an introductory seminar for entrepreneurs titled "Our Services for You".
Held in collaboration with the Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) and its affiliate, the Sharjah Foundation to Support Pioneering Entrepreneurs (RUWAD), the seminar aimed to shed light on the sustainable entrepreneurship ecosystem in the emirate and its prominent position in the global entrepreneurship landscape.
The seminar, which was held at the Sharjah Chamber’s Khorfakkan branch, was attended by H.E Khalil Al Mansoori, Director of Expo Khorfakkan; H.E. Eng. Abdulrahman Abdullah Al Naqbi, Director of Khorfakkan Municipality; Mona Omran Ali, Director of the Small and Medium Enterprises Centre (Tijarah 101) at SCCI, and Fatima Al Ali, Acting Director of RUWAD.
The symposium provided participants and prospective entrepreneurs with insights into the innovative opportunities, initiatives, services, and facilities offered by the Sharjah Chamber through its "Tijarah 101" Center. Both the Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) and the Sharjah Foundation to Support Pioneering Entrepreneurs (RUWAD) also presented their flagship services and initiatives designed to support and empower young entrepreneurs.
The Sharjah Chamber emphasised that its ongoing efforts to support entrepreneurs reflect its commitment to the emirate’s vision of building a sustainable, knowledge-based economy driven by innovation and creativity. These initiatives are designed to empower youth and enhance their contribution to Sharjah’s economic growth.
The Chamber also highlighted the importance of seminars and workshops that bridge the gap between entrepreneurs and service providers, offering presentations and informational sessions that reflect the institutional priority placed on streamlining business startup process in the emirate.
Mona Omran emphasised the significance of the seminar in familiarising entrepreneurs with the services and initiatives offered by the Sharjah Chamber and its partner entities to empower them to achieve growth and success in their ventures.
She pointed to the Chamber’s integrated system of advisory and training services, designed to enhance entrepreneurial skills and boost efficiency in managing projects. These services include specialized training programmes in strategic planning, financial management, and digital marketing.
For her part, Fatima Al Ali stated that RUWAD’s participation in the seminar aimed to strengthen its contribution to supporting small and medium enterprises led by Emirati entrepreneurs of both genders in Sharjah.
She noted that the seminar served as an excellent opportunity to outline the Foundation’s role in enhancing the entrepreneurial environment, promoting a culture of entrepreneurship across diverse community segments, and detailing the services it offers. These include financing, consultancy, membership programmes, training services, business incubators, and a range of community-focused initiatives, all of which captured the attention of participants and attendees during the impactful seminar.
The seminar featured a series of introductory presentations. It began with an overview by the Sharjah Economic Development Department highlighting the innovative services, initiatives, and facilities it offers to empower young entrepreneurs. Among the key highlights were the electronic business license and the accreditation license, which are designed to home-based projects and businesses operating via social media.
RUWAD then followed with a presentation on its key programmes, including the financing programme, membership benefits, training services, and business incubators.
The seminar also showcased the key initiatives and programmes of the Small and Medium Enterprises Center "Tijarah 101”, which recently opened a new branch in Khorfakkan city. This expansion reflects the Sharjah Chamber’s goal to broaden its initiative to support and develop entrepreneurial projects across all cities and regions of Sharjah, encouraging entrepreneurs to engage in business and economic activities.
