At the premises of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), the Sharjah Economic Excellence Network (ShjSEEN) recently held an informative workshop on “European Foundation for Quality Management " (EFQM) - a comprehensive management framework used by over 30,000 companies worldwide, by the presence of applicants for the Sharjah Top 10 Businesses Award along with a number of SCCI's officials and award supervisors.
The workshop aimed at preparing applicants for the Award and qualifying them to submit their applications in accordance with the EFQM Excellence Model, enhancing deep know-how of the concepts and criteria of excellence, RADAR Approach, conducting an internal self-assessment, enabling participants to identify strengths of their institutions, chances of possible improvement, as well learning how to duly prepare the nomination documents.
The workshop, held in collaboration with the "English Center for Studies and Consultations", was delivered by Essa Salem Al Qaydi, EFQM certified trainer, former head of evaluation teams, adviser to a various Corporate Excellence Awards in UAE.
Nada Al-Hajri, General Coordinator of ShjSEEN said: "this workshop falls within the framework of our commitment to provide training and assessment tools developed by experts and professional consultants to help private sector organizations to drive performance improvement through employing the Excellence Model along with urging them to upgrade their overall performance and promoting the growth of businesses".
"A thorough presentation on the Awards of the Sharjah Economic Excellence Network (ShjSEEN) in general and the Sharjah Top 10 Businesses Award in particular has been made. The presentation gave further detailed explanation on the Award, its criteria and the mechanism of the EFQM Jury," Al-Hajri added.
She further asserted the Network's commitment to assist and cooperate with all strategic partners, along with all institutions applying for the Award.
SCCI had launched the "Sharjah Award for the top ten businesses", to honor successful companies in this field, through supporting businesses in the private sector, as well as encouraging them to raise their performance level, leading to their nomination for the award, through invitation only.
ShjSEEN Awards are widely supported by SCCI, as part of its ongoing efforts to provide the most propitious climate for investors, and enhancing economic competitiveness in the Emirate.
