The ShjSEEN Awards Programme
The SCCI awards were originally launched in 1990 and were re-branded the shjSEEN Awards in 2016. The initiative has developed a range of Award programmes for both the public and private sectors to motivate, embed and measure quality and excellence and thus their sustainability and competitiveness within an organisation’s specific sector. Draws on the Excellence Model of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) a comprehensive management framework used by over 30,000 companies across the world. The Sharjah Green Award is aimed at rewarding organisations from all sectors, both "Public & Private", who are applying, in all aspects, the best environmental practices to improve processes and deliver environmentally friendly products or services. The Sharjah Social Responsibility Award, is targeted at recognising organisations in all sectors both "Public & Private" who embrace the importance of improving their Corporate Social Responsibility performance. To support the above there are also Awards for: The Sharjah U.A.E. Start-up Award and The Sharjah Entrepreneur Award
The Sharjah Business Incubation Center (Bidaya)
The Sharjah Business Incubation Center (Bidaya) was established in 2011 providing 14 new offices free-of-charge to entrepreneurs as part of the Chamber's Incubate Business Programme. Office space has been offered to entrepreneurs that have creative ideas and innovative Projects which should executed in the U.A.E. thatencourage and develops the spirit of entrepreneurship towards the establishment of small and medium-sized enterprises. The Sharjah Business Incubator is a key component of SME support and development, providing technical services from marketing, regulatory and training programs. Free Chamber services are available across a number of areas This SCCI Initiative supports SME’s which are run by U.A.E. nationals. It supports and funds new industrial and service Projects. The Projects are from a range of sectors, including commerce, industry and information technology. The support is provided across a number of areas from training to free service provision.
The Ruwad Establishment believes the Projects will contribute greatly to Sharjah's developmental plans. In particular, Ruwad will help promote businesses and products, help owners deal with global economic crises and assist with expansion of the Projects both within and outside of Sharjah. In addition, Ruwad also organises training programmes and initiatives to enhance the skills and understanding of SME owners in the fields of marketing, finance and management to assist them in developing the necessary skills, experience and awareness to seek out opportunities, whilst avoiding the risks associated with new companies entering a competitive mark
THE Sharjah Business Woman Council (SBWC)
The SBWC was brought to life over in 2002 to work under the patronage of SCCI. With a clear mission to Empower potential and existing professional and businesswomen to establish and realize their ambitions in both traditional and non-traditional sectors in the UAE. in December 2010 SBWC was delighted to be granted legal status. The SCCI still supports this major initiative that inspires, empower and encourages women in business as a key partner in both funding and implementation of their various projects.
